GEIR Elects New President at Annual General Meeting in Milan
The GEIR Annual General Meeting took place on 12 September in Milan, hosted by ITELYUM. We are pleased to announce that Miltos Bantis has been unanimously elected as the new President of GEIR.
Bantis stated, ''I am truly honoured to be elected as the new President of GEIR by my esteemed colleagues. I look forward to working with our members and partners to highlight the vital role of the re-refining industry in driving sustainability and supporting the circular economy. Together, we will continue working toward our mission: a sustainable world where all waste oils are re-refined.''
With his leadership, GEIR will continue to drive its vision forward, focusing on the key objectives that shape the future of the re-refining industry. A special thank you was extended to former President Marco Codognola for his successful leadership and continued dedication.
The AGM also saw the re-election of the Steering Committee members: Marco Codognola (Vice-President), Detlev Bruhnke (Vice-President), Christian Hartmann, Jens Wendland, and James Whelan.
The GEIR AGM reaffirmed our commitment to advancing our mission of raising awareness about the essential role of the re-refining sector in the circular economy. As we enter a new political cycle, we remain focused on strengthening collaboration with European institutions to further this cause.
Looking ahead, GEIR is ready to embrace new opportunities and foster collaborations that drive innovation and sustainability!
