GEIR Annual General Meeting – September 2025
On 10–11 September 2025, GEIR members gathered in Leipzig for the Annual General Meeting (AGM), kindly hosted by PURAGLOBE. The meeting provided a dynamic forum to exchange insights and review the association’s ongoing work to represent the sector’s interests at EU level.
The discussions focused on key policy developments, notably the European Commission’s forthcoming Circular Economy Act. Members discussed GEIR’s contribution to the consultation process. The importance of simplifying environmental legislation was also underlined, ensuring that re‑refining continues to play a central role in Europe’s transition to a circular economy.
In addition, members provided updates on the economic, political, and industry conditions in their respective countries. They discussed current market challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to placing regeneration at the core of EU objectives, including efforts toward energy independence and climate neutrality
The next GEIR Annual General Meeting will take place in Brussels on 25 March 2026.
