Francesco Gallo elected President of GEIR
GEIR members have elected Francesco Gallo, Director and R&D Coordinator at ITELYUM, as the association’s new President during its Annual General Assembly.
Gallo will lead the European re-refining industry association as it continues to promote innovation and strengthen the role of re-refining in supporting Europe’s circular economy.
Commenting on his appointment, Francesco Gallo said: “We must ensure that the unique environmental and circularity benefits delivered by re-refining are fully recognised and protected.”
Gallo succeeds Miltos Bantis, who completed his term as President. GEIR thanked Bantis for his leadership, commitment and contribution to the association during his tenure.
The General Assembly also confirmed the new Steering Committee that will support the President in the year ahead. The committee comprises Vice-Presidents Ditmar Dr. Gruß and Christian Hartmann, alongside Panagiotis Dimitriadis and Sonia Maestre.
Under its new leadership, GEIR will continue to focus on advancing innovation and circularity, while promoting the contribution of re-refining to a more sustainable European economy.
